Lifting Equipment Services
Due to the possible serious consequences of failure, some aspects of lifting operations have been controlled by legislation in the form of the Lifting operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER).
These Regulations state what should be done when planning or carrying out any activity involving lifting using equipment. Legislation places a duty on all employers to ensure that the health, safety and welfare of their employees is paramount.
LOLER requires that the equipment for lifting is checked by competent person on a six monthly basis. They recommend that this competent person is independent of the company, and therefore unbiased.
'ardent' offer this service. Using trained, qualified and certified staff, ardent will provide you with a service ranging from one piece of equipment to a whole fleet's worth. All necessary documentation will be provided, as well as a free document retrieval system should the originals get misplaced.
Also available are the necessary checks for any equipment which is not used for lifting, but should also be checked in a similar way but on a twelve monthly basis under the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) 1998.
